Sea passenger traffic rises in June but below pre-pandemic level

A total of 1.4 million persons were transported in passenger traffic in June 2023, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of passengers increased by 4 per cent compared to the number in June 2022 but compared to June 2019 the number of passengers was, however, just 68 per cent.

A total of 747,789 passengers travelled between Finland and Estonia, 608,705 passengers between Finland and Sweden and 18,924 passengers between Finland and Germany in June.

In June 2023, 29,634 passengers of foreign cruise ships arrived in Finland, which was only 23 per cent of the level before the coronavirus pandemic.
