Leisure trips in Finland drop by 20% in Sep

About 1.6 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in Finland in September 2025, which is one fifth fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of leisure trips abroad fell slightly from the previous year and was around 0.6 million in September.
Domestic trips with free accommodation numbered around 1.1 million, which was good one quarter lower than in the previous year.
The number of domestic leisure trips with paid accommodation remained on level with the year before and was around 0.5 million.
The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country grew slightly from the year before.
A total of 0.5 million of these trips were made in September 2025.
Altogether 4.9 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 3.1 million abroad.
