2 men killed in Tampere during weekend, several held

Two men were killed in two separate incidents of violence in Tampere during the weekend, police said in a press release on Monday.

The first murder took place in a private apartment at Lindforsinkatu area in Hervanta on Saturday morning at about 7:00 a.m.

The deceased was an adult man, but police did not divulge detail about the incident and the identity of the victim.

Police arrested one person from the spot in connection with the killing.

The second murder occurred in a residential building at Riihitie area on early Sunday at about 2:30 a.m.

Responding to an alarm police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of an adult man from there.

Police arrested several suspects but some of them were released after interrogation.

Police did not disclose the identities of the deceased and the suspects at the preliminary stage of the investigation.
