A website of Finnish government came under a denial of service attack on Wednesday, on the following day of a similar cyber attack on the Finnish Parliament´s website, government sources said.

“The Government's publication archive http://julkaisut.valtioneuvosto.fi has been hit by a denial of service attack today (Wednesday). The site may not work properly or access to the site may be blocked. Its publications were also not displayed on various ministries websites,” said the government in a twitter post on Wednesday afternoon.

The Russian hackers group named Noname057(16), which claimed responsibility for the cyber attack on the website of Finnish Parliament, also claimed the responsibility for the attack on government website, reported national broadcaster Yle, quoting the Telegram channel of the hacker group.

The website of valtioneuvosto is a government joint publication archive maintained by the National Library.

The government made the announcement of the cyber attack at about 4:20 p.m. and normal functioning of the website, however, was restored after half an hour.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is investigating into the denial of service attack on Parliament's website as interference of a computer system.
