Finland will lend Estonia about 130,000 doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine to help the neighbouring country to fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The government took the decision in its session on Thursday following a request for assistance made by Estonia to the EU countries on 9 November, said the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in a press release.

The COVID-19 situation has worsened rapidly in Estonia. The vaccine doses will be delivered before the end of November.

Estonia has promised to give Finland back the same number of vaccine doses in February 2022.

Finland lending Estonia vaccine, however, will not slow down the vaccination of people living in Finland.
