Woman killed in road mishap in Helsinki

A woman was killed in a road accident in Helsinki on Monday morning, police said in a press release.

The accident took place at about 8:30 a.m. when a private car skidded off the road and hit a roadside tree at Pohjois-Haaga area.

The woman, who was driving the car sustained severe wounds in the accident and succumbed to her injuries on way to hospital.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.

Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the incident to find out the reasons behind the accident.
