New car registration rises by 10% in Sep

A total of 7,481 new passenger cars were registered in September 2023, which was 10 per cent more than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In all, 12,389 new vehicles were registered in September. First registrations increased by 5 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

In January to September period of 2023, a total of 68,580 new passenger cars were registered, which was 9 per cent more than one year earlier.

Of first-time registered passenger cars in September 2023, 40 per cent were electric.

The number of electric cars registrations was 3,002, more than doubled from the corresponding month of the previous year.

Used imported passenger numbered 3,572 in September, which was 6 per cent more than one year earlier.
