The year-on-year change in consumer prices was 0.2 per cent in November, according to the Statistics Finland.
In October, too, inflation stood at 0.2 per cent.
Consumer prices were raised most in November by increases in the prices of cigarettes, vegetables, single-unit dwellings, wireless telephone services, as well as fees of medical examination and treatment from one year ago.
The rise of consumer prices from one year back was curbed most by reductions in fuel prices and hotel room rents.
From October to November, the month-on-month change of consumer prices was minus 0.1 per cent, caused by lower prices of international flights, for example.
Each mid-month, the Statistics Finland’s interviewers collect altogether 21,000 prices on nearly 470 commodities from approximately 2,200 outlets for building the Consumer Price Index. Price data is supplemented with scanner data, including around three million prices. In addition, some 1,000 items of price data are gathered by centralised collection.
According to the preliminary data on the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, the rate of inflation in the euro area was minus 0.3 per cent in November.
