Finland sees 20% lower inflow of Asian tourists in June

The number of overnight stays by non-resident tourists in Mainland Finland went down by three per cent in June 2026 from the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of overnight stays by Asian tourists decreased significantly by 20 per cent.

According to the preliminary data, 2.26 million overnight stays were recorded at accommodation establishments in Mainland Finland.

The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 1.71 million and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists 0.54 million.

The total number of overnight stays was on level with the previous year.

The number of overnight stays by resident tourists increased by one per cent from the previous year in June 2026.

The highest number of overnight stays was recorded in Uusimaa, where the total number of overnight stays was 0.74 million. In Uusimaa, the number of overnight stays decreased by one per cent.

The second highest number of overnight stays, 0.18 million, was recorded in North Ostrobothnia, where the number of overnight stays increased by six per cent from the previous year.

The occupancy rate of hotel rooms in Mainland Finland was 60 per cent and the average price of a hotel room was EUR 122.

The average price of a hotel room was highest in Satakunta, EUR 135.
