More passengers fly through Finnish airports in May

A total of 1.8 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in May 2026, according to Statistics Finland.

The total number of passengers increased by 4 per cent compared to May 2025.

The number of passengers on domestic flights increased 8 per cent and the number of passengers on international flights increased by 4 per cent from the previous year.

In May, a total of 1.6 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 202,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports.

Of the air traffic passengers 86 per cent travelled on international flights and 14 per cent on domestic flights.

The share of passengers on international flights was 92 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 38 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 97 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.
