Foreign tourist inflow rises by 5% in February

A total of 1.86 million overnight stays were recorded at accommodation establishments in February 2026, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 1.11 million and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists 0.74 million.

The total number of overnight stays increased by one per cent from the year before.

The number of overnight stays by resident tourists went down by one per cent from the previous year while the number of overnight stays by non-resident tourists grew by five per cent.

The highest number of foreign nights were from Germany, France and Great Britain.

The highest number of overnight stays was recorded in Uusimaa, where the total number of overnight stays was 0.48 million. The number of overnight stays in Uusimaa increased by four per cent from the previous year.

The second highest number of overnight stays, 0.48 million, was recorded in Lapland, where the number of overnight stays grew by two per cent from the previous year.

The occupancy rate of hotel rooms was 55 per cent and the average price of a hotel room was EUR 147.

The average price of a hotel room was highest in Lapland, EUR 279.
