More passengers travel through Finnish airports in January

A total of 1.7 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in January 2026, which is 7 percent higher compared to the stipulated month of the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of passengers on domestic flights increased 5 per cent and the number of passengers on international flights increased by 7 per cent from the previous year.

In January 2026, a total of 1.3 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 483,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports.

Of the air traffic passengers, 77 per cent travelled on international flights and 23 per cent on domestic flights.

The share of passengers on international flights was 84 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 58 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 94 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.
