Around 2.7 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in July 2025, which is one fifth fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of leisure trips abroad fell by good one tenth and was around 0.9 million in July 2025.
The decrease in the number of domestic leisure trips was due to a decline in the number of trips with free accommodation.
In July 2025, around 1.7 million trips with free accommodation were made, which is good one fourth fewer than one year earlier.
The number of domestic leisure trips with paid accommodation remained on level with the year before and was around 1.0 million.
The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country was 0.7 million, which is close on one fifth fewer than one year earlier.
Altogether 12.8 million overnight stays during leisure trips were recorded in Finland and 4.9 million abroad in July 2025.
