OnniBus trials long-distance premium bus service

Budget bus service OnniBus together with Estonia based Lux Express are launching a new premium bus service from this month, said OnniBus in a press release on Wednesday.

The new Lux Express by OnniBus services will begin operating on June 19, just in time for the midsummer holiday rush.

OnniBus will run six premium Lux Express coache with comfortable seating with extra legroom, and every seat is equipped with a personal screen offering a wide selection of free, up-to-date entertainment.

For added comfort, passengers can upgrade to the Lounge area for an additional €3–5, enjoying luxurious seats and spacious 2+1 seating arrangements.

All Lux Express by OnniBus services are fully operated by OnniBus drivers and run non-stop from departure to destination.

The Lux Express by OnniBus services will launch on June 19, with routes from Helsinki to Turku and Jyväskylä. Starting August 11, routes will expand to include Helsinki–Tampere and Helsinki–Kotka.

The pilot phase of the new concept will initially last one year, during which data and customer feedback will be collected to evaluate its popularity and effectiveness.
