The four-party alliance right-wing government led by Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party-NCP) on Wednesday survived a no-confidence motion brought against it in the parliament by all the five opposition parties over the rising living cost in the country.
The government won the motion by 95 votes to 77 with 27 lawmakers remaining absent.
The main opposition Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) filed the interpellation on October 23 asking the government to explain the reasons behind increasing living costs.
The motion was supported by Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland), Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance), Vihreä liitto (Finnish Green League) and Liike Nyt (Movement Now).
The Government replied to the interpellation, and Parliament held the debate on Tuesday and Parliament held the vote on the no-confidence on Wednesday.
