The defence lawyer told the court that the man was driving the car at about 35 kilometers per hour where the speed limit on the road is 50 kilometers per hour.

The car driver did not see the scooter or the girls until they directly had come in front of him and he did not get time to brake the car before the accident, said the defence lawyer.
