Minor child killed in car mishap at house yard, 2 burnt to death

A minor child was killed in a car accident at the yard of a detached house in Mynämäki while two elderly people were burnt to death in a house fire in Salo on Sunday, police said in separate press releases.

The first incident took place in the morning at about 9:30 a.m. when a car knocked down the under school- age child at the yard of the house in Mynämäki, a municipality under Southwest Finland region.

The child died on the spot.

Police, however, did not disclose details information about the accident and the identity of the victim and the driver but said that the car was moving at the yard of the house.

They are investigating into the accident but did not divulge more information at the preliminary stage of the investigation.

Meanwhile, two elderly people were burnt to death when a fire broke out in a detached house at Piispanpellonkatu area in Salo, a municipality under southwestern Finland region on Sunday afternoon at about 2:00 p.m. and engulfed the house immediately.

Responding to an alarm Rescue Service people and police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies of two elderly residents of the house from the debris.

Police, however, did not divulge the identities of the victims and the origin of the fire could not be known.

They are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire.
