All the opposition parties in the parliament on Friday tabled a no-confidence motion against the four-party alliance government over the move to link wage increase to the export sector.

Leaders of the Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP), Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland), Vihreä liitto (Finnish Green League), Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) and Liike Nyt (Movement Now) - filed the interpellation accusing the government of widening the wage gap in the sector through enacting the new law.

They also demanded that the government should withdraw the provision from the proposed law.

SDP leaders Tytti Tuppurainen and Niina Malm, Vihreät leader Sofia Virta, Keskusta leader Antti Kurvinen, Vasemmistoliitto leader Aino-Kaisa Pekonen and Liike Nyt leader Harry Harkimo were present while submitting the interpellation.

The government will respond to the interpellation in a plenary session within 15 days.

After receiving the reply to the interpellation, the Parliament will hold a debate on the issue and proceed to a no-confidence motion against the government or a particular minister.
