New car registration rises by 4% in Oct

A total of 6,451 new passenger cars were registered in October 2023, which was 4 per cent more than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In all, 10,980 new vehicles were registered in October. First registrations decreased by 2 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

In January to October period of 2023, a total of 75,033 new passenger cars were registered, which was 9 per cent more than one year earlier.

Of first-time registered passenger cars in October, 36 per cent were fully electric. The number of their registrations was 2,305, or 86 per cent higher than one year earlier.

Used imported passenger numbered 3,776 in October, which was 31 per cent more than one year earlier.
