Inflation goes up in February in Finland

The year-on-year change in consumer prices was 0.6 per cent in February 2026, according to Statistics Finland.
In January, inflation stood at minus 0.2 per cent. The month-on-month change of consumer prices was 1.1 per cent.
In February, consumer prices were raised most by electricity, meat of bovine animals, fresh, chilled or frozen and cigarettes.
The rise in consumer prices from one year ago was curbed most by interest on housing loans, interests on consumer credit, student loans and real estates.
The core inflation of the Consumer Price Index was minus 0.1 per cent.
The calculation of the core inflation takes into account all consumer goods and services, excluding food and energy, which include more short-term price fluctuations than the other commodities.
