16 new infections, no coronavirus death since 3 July

The number of coronavirus deaths in Finland remains unchanged at 329, as no new death had been reported in the country for since early June, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.

The last coronavirus death in the country took place on 3rd July.

Meanwhile, according to THL, the total number of coronavirus infections increased to 7,295 as 16 more cases had been confirmed since Friday.

A total of nine COVID-19 patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals, including one in the intensive care unit (ICU).

So far, a total of 272 people had died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 25 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 17 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 12 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and three in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.

More than 6,800 patients, or 90% of the total number of infected people, have recovered from the disease.

Currently, laboratories in the country are testing about 13,000 samples a day.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 131 per 100,000 people.
