3 Palestinians killed in Israeli fire across Gaza

At least three Palestinians were killed and 20 others injured on Monday by Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinians sources, reported Xinhua.

Palestinian medical sources told Xinhua that a young man died from injuries sustained after being shot by an Israeli drone in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.

The sources added that a child was killed after being struck in the chest by gunfire from Israeli military vehicles targeting displaced persons' tents in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

In a separate incident, the sources reported that a 31-year-old Palestinian woman died from wounds sustained from Israeli army gunfire on Salah al-Din Street, east of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Additionally, 20 people, including women and children, sustained injuries from Israeli gunfire and artillery shelling targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip. They were transported to hospitals for treatment, according to the sources.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army regarding these developments.

Meanwhile, Gaza-based health authorities said in a daily report that 1,394 people have been killed since the ceasefire took effect in October last year, bringing the death toll from Oct. 7, 2023, to 73,914.

Separately, Hamas condemned on Monday the United States' decision to impose sanctions on Palestinian officials and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization for the second consecutive year.

"We condemn and denounce the United States' decision to refuse entry visas to the Palestinian delegation traveling to New York to participate in the UN General Assembly proceedings for the second year in a row," Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said in a statement.

Earlier this month, the United States extended visa restrictions on Palestinian officials, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, preventing him from attending the UN General Assembly high-level week in person for the second consecutive year. Later, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution allowing Abbas to participate in this year's general debate via video.
