In a separate statement, the hospital reported that a 19-year-old girl was also killed by Israeli army fire in the same area.

Palestinian security sources told Xinhua that Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire on the southern areas of Khan Younis, accompanied by artillery shelling and the demolition of buildings east of the city.

The eastern areas of Gaza City also came under sustained artillery shelling throughout the night, while Israeli tanks and armored vehicles advanced toward the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital and the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, the sources added.
