At least 11 Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Monday in Israeli shelling of the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian security and medical sources said, reported Xinhua.

Security sources told Xinhua that armed clashes broke out east of the camp between Hamas security forces and individuals accused of collaborating with Israel. They said Israeli drones intervened during the incident, firing live ammunition and missiles that caused the casualties.

Medical sources confirmed that at least 11 people were killed and several others injured, some seriously. The wounded were taken to al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah for treatment.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
