Iranian missile hits near Tel Aviv, Israel strikes Iran's security sites

A missile attack from Iran killed a construction worker in central Israel on Monday, reported Xinhua, quoting the country's Magen David Adom rescue service spokesman Zaki Heller.

His death brought the total death toll in Israel since the beginning of the conflict on Feb. 28 to 11, according to official Israeli figures.

A second worker at the same construction site in Yehud, east of Tel Aviv, was evacuated to a hospital in critical condition, Heller said. A third person at a separate location sustained serious injuries.

Yaron Schiff, a regional commander of the rescue forces, said the workers at the construction site were in an unprotected area and outside a reinforced shelter when the missile struck.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said on Monday it struck Iran's internal security sites and missile launchers across the country.

In a statement, the military said its warplanes targeted missile launch sites and command centers of the internal security forces and Basij volunteer force affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and deepened damage to military infrastructure.

Infrastructure targeted in the strikes included a rocket engine production facility, several long-range ballistic missile launch sites, headquarters of the Iranian government's regional corps, Iran's internal security forces command center in Isfahan and an additional base used by the IRGC and the Basij.

On Feb. 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities. Iran responded through missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and U.S. bases in the region.

Many surprises in store: Iranian FM

Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Monday accused the United States of plotting against Iran's oil and nuclear facilities, asserting that Tehran is fully prepared to respond and has "many surprises" in store, reported ANI.

In a post on X, Araghchi mocked the US' Operation Epic Fury against the Islamic Republic, calling it "Operation Epic Mistake", which has already triggered major disruptions in global crude markets.

"9 days into Operation Epic Mistake, oil prices have doubled while all commodities are skyrocketing. We know the U.S. is plotting against our oil and nuclear sites in hopes of containing huge inflationary shock," Araghchi wrote.

He further warned that Iran is ready to respond to any escalation.

"Iran is fully prepared. And we, too, have many surprises in store," the post added.

Araghchi's remarks come amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States during the ongoing conflict in West Asia, with both sides trading accusations and warnings as military and economic pressures continue to mount in global markets.
