Saudi Arabia registered on Friday 3,921 new coronavirus cases, raising the accumulated infections to 119,942, reported Xinhua.

The recoveries rose to 81,029, with the reporting of 1,010 new recovered cases, the Health Ministry tweeted.

The death toll reached 893 with the registration of 36 fatalities in the last 24 hours.

There are 38,020 active cases, including 1,820 critical.

Riyadh continued its weeks-long position, topping the chart with 1,584 cases followed by Jeddah and Mecca with 391 and 197 respectively.

Saudi Arabia and China have supported each other in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

In mid-February, the kingdom offered generous support to China to help fight the deadly virus at the early stage of its outbreak.

A team of eight Chinese medical experts visited the kingdom on April 15 to assist its anti-coronavirus fight. On April 26, the two sides signed a deal worth 265 million U.S. dollars for expanding Saudi Arabia's coronavirus testing capacity.
