The job approval ratings of U.S. President Donald Trump continue to be marked by extreme partisan polarization, with 91 percent of Republicans and 5 percent of Democrats approving of the job he is doing, according to the latest Gallup poll.
Thirty-eight percent of independents evaluate Trump's performance positively, the poll, conducted from Sept. 3-15, also found.
The 86-point gap in Republican and Democratic ratings of the president ties the highest Gallup has measured in a single survey.
Trump's overall job approval rating is 43 percent in the poll, back above 40 percent after falling below that mark in the late August survey.
His current rating nearly matches his 42 percent average for 2019 to date, ranging from 37 percent during the government shutdown in January to 46 percent in April.
