Mbappe decides Clasico beating Barca, Real Sociedad go 5th in Liga

Two goals from Kylian Mbappe gave Real Madrid a 2-1 win away to FC Barcelona in the first Clasico of the season on Sunday, reported Xinhua.

The win ended Barcelona's perfect start to the La Liga campaign and cut Real Madrid's deficit to the league leader to three points, with second-placed Atletico Madrid now just two points behind Barca.

Mbappe struck in the 41st and 87th minutes, while Raphinha equalized in the 61st. Real Madrid deserved the victory after neutralizing Barcelona's potent attack and repeatedly threatening on the counterattack.

Athletic Bilbao beat Getafe 4-0 at home. Alex Berenguer opened the scoring with a free kick before Inaki Williams doubled the lead with a solo run in the 35th minute. Aitor Paredes headed home from a corner in the second half, and Yuri Berchiche rounded off the win with a powerful free kick in the closing minutes.

Celta Vigo and Real Betis drew 0-0 in a game in which both sides showed signs of fatigue following midweek European fixtures.

Real Sociedad moved into fifth place in La Liga after a 2-1 home win over Levante, with all three goals coming in the first 27 minutes. Orri Oskarsson and Benat Turrientes scored for Real Sociedad, while Nacho Perez pulled one back for Levante.
