World No. 1 Iga Swiatek, who caught an injury during the WTA Italian Open, has ensured that she will be ready for the French Open, reported Xinhua.

In the quarterfinal of the WTA Italian Open, Swiatek was fighting against Elena Rybakina. After two sets, the Pole requested a medical timeout and did not return to the court.

On Friday, Swiatek made a short statement in which she assured that she will compete in the French Open, which starts on May 28.

"During the second set, I got a thigh injury. I will be off for a few days for sure. However, I booked my flight to Paris, so keep your fingers crossed," wrote the tennis player.
