Finland beat Russia by 5-0 in women's ice hockey in Beijing

Finland women´s ice hockey team scored first victory in the Beijing Olympics 2022 after they beat Russia (ROC) by five goals to nil at National Indoor Stadium in Beijing on Tuesday.

Sanni Rantala, Michelle Karvinen, Jenniina Nylund, Minnamari Tuominen and Susanna Tapani scored one goal each for Finland and took the team to quarter-finals as the third team of group A.

Finnish goalkeeper Anni Keisala stopped 19 shots while two goalkeepers of Russia saved altogether 30 shots.

Finland will face Japan in the quarter-finals on Friday.

Earlier, in the three previous matches, Finland lost to USA, Canada and Switzerland.
