Helsinki stabbing suspect remanded in absentia

The District Court of Helsinki on Wednesday remanded in absentia a man suspected of stabbing and injuring two adults and three children in the Helsinki district of Haaga over the weekend, reported national broadcaster Yle.
The court also remanded the suspect's 29-year old brother on suspicion of involvement in attempted murder. According to detective inspector Pekka Hätönen, the brother was not present during the attack.
The suspect was remanded on probable cause of attempted murder and attempted manslaughter. The police revealed that the attack was targeted at the suspect's ex-wife.
The police said they have received sightings of the suspect who is still at large.
According to the report, the District Court of Helsinki issued a restraining order against the suspect on 8 February.
