Six people entered Finland illegally hiding in a vehicle at the Port of Helsinki on September 6, said Finnish Border Guard in a press release on Friday.
The Border Guard found five Eritrean citizens and one Moroccan citizen hiding in a vehicle at the Port of Helsinki.
The vehicle had arrived in Finland on a passenger ship from Tallinn.
The vehicle was driven by a foreigner who was arrested by the Helsinki District Court on Wednesday on suspicion of organizing illegal entry.
The case now revealed at the Port of Helsinki is part of a broader ongoing phenomenon in which illegal immigrants who have arrived in the Schengen area from Belarus are transported through various countries to the rest of Europe.
Earlier in August, an international human trafficking network is suspected of organising illegal entry of dozens of migrants into Finland from December 2025 to April 2026.
