Stubb to join funeral of King Harald V of Norway

President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb will attend the funeral of King Harald V of Norway on 9 September in Oslo, said the President Office in a press release on Thursday.

The presidential couple will attend the funeral service in Oslo Cathedral, followed by a reception at the Royal Palace.

Harald died on August 28 at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet at the age of 89.

Born on Feb. 21, 1937, Harald ascended to the throne on Jan. 17, 1991, following the death of his father, King Olav V.

He had been hospitalized several times in recent years and received a permanent pacemaker in 2024.
