Birth rate remains lower than death in Finland in Jan-July period

The number of births was 6,727 lower than that of deaths in Finland in January-July period of this year, according to Statistics Finland.
There were 27,983 births and 34,710 deaths in the first seven months of 2026.
During the period Finland's population, however, increased by 2,415 persons.
The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad.
The number of immigrants was 9,169 higher than that of emigrants.
There were 23,602 immigrants and 14,433 emigrants in January-July 2026.
