Youth killed in road mishap in Puolanka

A young man was killed in a road accident in in Puolanka, a municipality under Kainuu region early Saturday morning, police said.

The accident took place when a private car skidded off the Utajärventie road and hit several roadside trees.

The driver of the car, who was alone onboard, died on the spot in the accident.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.

Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the incident to find out the reasons behind the accident.
