1 found dead in Turku river, man killed in tractor mishap in Kitee

One person was found dead in Aurajoki river in Turku on Wednesday afternoon, police said in a press release.

A squad of police and rescue service people rushed to the spot responding to an alarm from a bystander at about 2:00 p.m. and recovered the body from the river.

The identity of the deceased could not be known.

Police are investigating into the incident to find out the identity of the dead person and the reason behind the death.

Meanwhile, an elderly man was killed in a tractor accident in Kitee, a municipality in Eastern Finland on Tuesday night, said police.

The accident took place when the tractor knocked down him in a private yard. The man, who born in the 1940s died on the spot in the accident.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the victim.

They are investigating into the incident to get more information in this regard.
