Conscript dies in Karelia Brigade

A conscript died in the Karelia Brigade at Vekaranjärvi in Kouvola on Monday evening, said Finnish Army in a press release on Tuesday.

The authorities, however, did not divulge details about the incident and the identity of the deceased.

The South-Eastern Police are investigating into the incident to find out more information in this regard.

The incident led to the conscript's death did not pose danger to others.

The Defence Forces informed the family of the deceased about the accident.

The authority also offered crisis support and counselling to the squadmates following the death.

Meanwhile, the Karelia Brigade paid tributes to the dead conscript through hoisting the flags at half-mast to mourn the death.
