NBI probes into missing of Indian student studying in Lahti

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is investigating into the disappearance of an Indian citizen studying in Lahti, said NBI in a press release on Monday.

The NBI is seeking for information about the 18-year-old student who went missing in early May.

According to the information available to the Police, the student has travelled on the Z train from Lahti to Helsinki on 5 May at around 17:00.

The last confirmed sighting of him was made in a K-Market located in Kruunuvuorenranta, Helsinki, at around 20:00 on the same evening. The Police have no information on his movements after this.

The student has dark hair and beard, and wears glasses. He was wearing dark clothes and light-coloured shoes and was carrying a backpack with thick gloves attached to it.

The investigation of the case has been transferred from the Häme Police Department to the National Bureau of Investigation.
