Stubb hails US-Iran peace agreement

President Alexander Stubb on Monday welcomed the announcement of an agreement between the United States and Iran and congratulated the people who were involved in the process as mediators.

“I welcome the announcement of an agreement between the United States and Iran. Congratulations to everyone involved, including Pakistan, Qatar, and the other mediators,” the President wrote in a post in his social media platform X.

He said that the agreement paves the way for ending the war and opening the Strait of Hormuz, which will have a significant impact on the region and the global economy.

“I urge all involved to take advantage of the situation and find a lasting solution to the conflict in accordance with international law,” Stubb added.

Earlier on Sunday, the United States and Iran announced that they had reached a peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) following intensive negotiations to end the ongoing war.
