Finland, Morocco vow to boost bilateral trade

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio on Tuesday met with Moroccan Minister for Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour in Helsinki and discussed various bilateral issues including trade, maritime and mining.

“Minister for Foreign Trade and Development VilleTavio and Morocco’s Minister for Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour met in Helsinki and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral trade. During the visit, Minister Mezzour will explore Finnish maritime and mining solutions,” said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in a post on its social media platform X.

Earlier on Monday, the Moroccan Minister arrived in Finland on a two-day official visit.

He also met Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto and Minister of Employment Matias Marttinen during his visit.

Mezzour held meetings with Finnish businesses and made a visit to the Vuosaari Harbour.

The Moroccan Minister was accompanied by a business delegation and representatives of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises.

During his visit, Mezzour was informed about Finnish solutions relating to the maritime and mining industry, renewable energies and industrial wastewater treatment.

The Confederation of Finnish Industries, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises and the Technology Industries of Finland organised a Finnish-Moroccan business forum during the visit.
