Prime Minister Petteri Orpo on Monday underscored the need for developing emergency warning system regarding drone threat.

Terming drone threats as a new issue for Finnish society, he also said that preparedness for drone threats requires cooperation across society, said an official press release.

He also it is important for employers to have clear practices in place for who should come to work even in exceptional situations and who should stay at home until the danger has passed.

“Drone threats are a new issue for Finnish society. In this new situation, people naturally have questions, and they have the right to receive answers and instructions. It is important for us to be able to meet the needs of people in Finland,” Orpo added.

Representatives of wellbeing services counties, cities and labour market organisations took part in the roundtable discussion.

The purpose of the discussion was to strengthen the resilience of society and increase understanding of what has already been done to ensure preparedness and how it can be further developed through cooperation.
