Number of marriages rises in Finland last year

A total of 22,082 marriages were entered into in Finland in 2025, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of marriages entered into increased by 662 from the previous year.

A total of 21,588 marriages took place between opposite-sex spouses, which is 593 more than in the year before.

Same-sex couples entered into 494 marriages and the number is 69 higher than in the previous year.

Altogether 11,795 marriages ended in divorce.

The average age at first marriage was 32.6 years for women and 34.4 years for men.
