Valtonen, Rubio meet in Washington, discuss biliteral ties, wars

Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on Monday met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington and discussed various bilateral and international issues, said the Embassy of Finland in the US.
“Today (Monday), Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen and U.S. Secretary Rubio had an excellent meeting in Washington, D.C., covering transatlantic security, Russia’s war against Ukraine, and the situation in the Middle East. Finland–U.S. relations remain close, with an active and ongoing dialogue,” the embassy wrote in a post on its social media platform X.
Valtonen held the meeting with her US counterpart on the concluding day of her 5-day visit to USA.
“Met with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen today (Monday). Finland is a close Ally, an important contributor to European security, and a strong partner in emerging technologies and delivering economic growth,” Rubio wrote in a post on his X after the meeting.
