The population of Finland has decreased by 121 persons during the January-February period in 2026, according to Statistics Finland.

The decrease in population was due to natural decline.

Although the higher number of immigrations than emigrations reduced the gap, the total number of population declined due to higher number of deaths compared to the number of births.

The number of births was 3,118 lower than that of deaths during the first two months of this year while the number of immigrants was 2,185 higher than that of emigrants.

Finland's population was 5,656,779 at the end of February 2026.
