1 burnt to death in Kangasniemi, 1 killed in road mishap in Lapinlahti

One person was burnt to death in a suspected arson at a house in Kangasniemi while a man was killed in a road accident in Lapinlahti on Sunday police said in separate press releases.

The suspected arson took place at about 3:40 p.m. at an apartment in a building in Kangasniemi, a municipality under South Savo region.

Responding to an alarm Rescue Service people and police rushed to the spot and found a man dead in the apartment. They recovered the body from the debris.

Police suspected that the deceased himself set the fire at the house intentionally.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the man and the origin of the fire.

They are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the incident.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Lapinlahti, a municipality under North Savo region on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred at about 9:00 a.m. when the motorcycle skidded off the road named Linnansalmentie.

The driver, a man of 30 years old died on the spot in the accident.

Police suspected that the driver lost control over the motorcycle resulting the accident.

Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind the accident.
