More Finns at risk of poverty or social exclusion

A total of 958,000 people or 17.3 per cent of the household population in Finland were at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2024, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of persons at risk grew from the previous year.

The share of persons aged 18 to 49 who were at risk of poverty or social exclusion increased in particular.

The number of persons at risk of poverty or social exclusion increased by 28,000 persons in 2024.

Number of persons at risk increased among 18- to 49-year-olds from 424,000 to 494,000.

The number of those who were simultaneously at risk of poverty and had low work intensity increased in particular.
