2 elderly people burnt to death in Lohja house fire

Two elderly persons were burnt to death in a fire occurred at a detached house in Lohja, a municipality in the southern Finland on Wednesday morning, police said.

The fire broke out in the house at Kirkkotie area at about 10:00 a.m. and engulfed it immediately.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service personnel and police rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

They also recovered bodies of two elderly persons, residents of the house from the debris.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the deceased.

The origin of the fire could not be known.

Rescue service people and police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire and the deaths.

After the preliminary investigation, police did not suspect any crime link to the incident.
