Radical rightist Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) lawmaker Wille Rydman has become the Minister of Social Affairs and Health replacing his party colleague Kaisa Juuso, said a government press release.

The President on Friday appointed Rydman to serve as a member of the government and the Minister of the respective ministry.

At the same time, the President released Kaisa Juuso from her duties as Minister of Social Affairs and Health and as a member of the government.

Earlier on February 12, Juuso, a lawmaker of Perussuomalaiset, the second largest component of the four-party alliance government suddenly announced her resignation as the Minister of Social Affairs and Health.

Rydman also previously served as the Minister of Economic Affairs in the present Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party-NCP) led government from July 7, 2023 to June 13, 2025.

He served as the minister for the first two years of the government while another Perussuomalaiset lawmaker Sakari Puisto took over as the Economic Affairs minister for the rest two years.

Earlier, Rydman left Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party-NCP) and joined Perussuomalaiset in January, 2023 following allegations of inappropriate behavious to women in June 2022.

He was elected MP from Perussuomalaiset in April 2, 2023 parliamentary elections.

Previously he was elected lawmaker twice from Kokoomus since the 2015 elections.
