Spring session of Parliament opens

The spring session of Parliament has opened on Tuesday after winter break, said an official press release.
The first plenary session took place at the noon and the House elected the Speaker and the Deputy Speakers on the opening day.
The State Opening of Parliament will be held on Wednesday.
Jussi Halla-aho of Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) has been re-elected as Speaker while Paula Risikko of Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) and Tarja Filatov of Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) have been re-elected as the First Deputy Speaker and Second Deputy Speaker respectively.
In the election, Halla-aho received 116 votes, Risikko bagged 161 votes and Filatov got 132 votes.
