Immigration drops in Finland significantly in 2025

A total of 50,060 immigrants arrived in Finland in 2025 and the number is 13,905 lower compared to the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of the arrival of immigrants, however, was the third highest since 1990.
Finland's population was 5,656,900 at the end of December 2025.Country’s population increased by 20,929 persons in the last year.
The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad. The number of immigrants was 34,852 higher than that of emigrants.
The number of births was also 13,195 lower than that of deaths in 2025.
The total fertility rate in the country was 1.30 in 2025.
The life expectancy of boys lengthened by 0.2 years and that of girls fell by 0.1 years in 2025.
